Today’s “Fraud of the Day” is based on an article entitled, “Former county employee and boyfriend sentenced for welfare fraud; more than $90,000 taken” published by Lake County News. A woman who formerly worked for the county and her boyfriend have pleaded guilty in what a local prosecutor said is the biggest welfare fraud case she’s ever seen.

Today’s “Fraud of the Day” is based on an article entitled, “Federal jury convicts Jacksonville man after identity theft, fraud scheme,” published by the Florida Times-Union. A federal jury convicted a 52-year-old Jacksonville man of several charges stemming from an identity theft scheme that involved bank and Social Security fraud, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
